“Free from all suffering ” ( 度一切苦厄) is from The Heart Sutra, which is the most famous sutra (scripture) in Mahayana Buddhism. The Heart Sutra concisely summarises the heart of the Buddha’s teaching on emptiness: “emptiness is form and form is emptiness” – that there is no difference between the truth that all things are inherently pure and empty, and the reality of the world around us.
The main characters of this “Free from all suffering (度一切苦厄）” Calligraphy artwork are written in Clerical script (隶书 lì shū ). The small characters on the bottom is my Calligraphy inscription in Semi-cursive script (行书 xíng shū), which includes the creation time (09/2021), my Chinese name (杨奕君) and the creation place (Melbourne). The right seal is “Zhen Shan Mei” （真善美）, which means “Truth, Goodness and Beauty”. The left seal is my family name” Yang ” (杨）, my personal signature seal .
PS：This artwork was written from right to left, according to Chinese tradition and only the yellow fan shape of ” Free from all suffering ” ( 度一切苦厄) artwork is still avalible.
